On November 8, over 300 supporters of Rogers Behavioral Health turned Milwaukee’s historic Grain Exchange into a celebration of mental health and wellness at the Celebrate the Light Gala. With Packers Hall of Famer Don “Majik Man” Majkowski serving as the honorary host, the event blended star power, heartfelt stories, and vibrant festivities into an unforgettable evening. Majkowski graciously posed for photos, signed autographs, and shared his personal journey from mental toughness to mental wellness, inspiring attendees with his humbleness and genuine passion for the mission.
Raising $220,000 for life-changing initiatives
The Gala’s success was felt in every corner, with net proceeds of $220,000 supporting the Rogers Foundation’s transformative programs. From patient care grants and canine-assisted interventions to Rogers Research Center and community-based initiatives like Coaching for Success, the funds will directly break down barriers to care for those in need.
Matthias Schueth, executive vice president of Rogers Foundation, reflected on the evening:
“It was an enjoyable evening. There was great energy in the room—laughter, compassion, and camaraderie mixed with the festive spirit of the rock-chic theme. It was incredible to see everyone come together for such an important cause.”
A night of glitz, glam, and generosity
Decked out in their best rock-and-roll-inspired attire, guests immersed themselves in unique activities. Silent and exclusive auctions offered one-of-a-kind treasures, while Kendra Scott mystery boxes provided surprise jewelry gifts. Ivy’s Illustrations added a touch of whimsy with custom art, and plushies resembling Rogers’ beloved facility dog, Kobe, sold out in record time.
Adding to the night’s excitement was the innovative “mix and mingle” format. Guests enjoyed gourmet food stations at their leisure, trading the traditional sit-down dinner for a more dynamic and engaging experience.
“The feedback has been very positive,” said Matthias. “It’s safe to say this format will return next year!”
A unifying call to action
The evening’s highlight was the featured program, “Giving Barriers to Care the Boot: A Unifying Call,” where speakers and videos shared the impact of the Foundation’s initiatives. Chinyere Stevens, operations manager at Rogers, passionately spoke about the Angel Fund’s vital role:
“Having the opportunity to speak about Angel Fund and share the ways in which every dollar contributes to breaking down barriers to care was such a special moment to me. What stood out to me most was seeing all the people present at the Gala who showed up to support a very important cause. I enjoyed every moment of the evening, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.”
Mark your calendar for next year!
With the success of this year’s Gala still echoing, the date for next year is already set—November 7, 2025, at the Grain Exchange. Until then, the ripple effects of this incredible evening will continue to shine a light on mental health, one life at a time.
