If you are going to hold a gift collection drive, it seems natural that Ford of Lake Geneva would participate…after all, driving is their business! All puns aside, the car dealership generously collected gift items for Rogers Foundation as part of its Give for a Better Day campaign. Rogers was chosen as the beneficiary because some of the dealership’s employees know of friends or loved ones who have received treatment here.
“It is an organization we are most thankful for,” said Chuck Harvey, the company’s general manager.
For two weeks, starting right after Thanksgiving, Ford of Lake Geneva placed a large, festively decorated barrel out in the showroom and displayed flyers that encouraged donations.
“It was a wish list for patients to brighten their holiday season,” confirmed Harvey, who said the barrel and flyers jump-started many conversations.
Approximately 24 people felt inspired to place items in the barrel, so much that it overflowed with so many gifts that they filled two additional tables! The road can seem long for patients who are working toward recovery when they are away from loved ones, but thanks to companies like Ford of Lake Geneva, these children and their families will know people care for them as they continue their journey toward wellness.
