Students at Tonawanda Elementary School in Elm Grove, WI, were busy elves this holiday. They ran a gift drive, benefitting children at Rogers Behavioral Health. Through their efforts, they collected board games, gift cards, stuffed animals and toys of all sorts!
Tonawanda teacher, Amy Benotch, heard about the gift drive from a friend who has participated herself.
“We usually pick a community project to engage in each year as an act of service to the community,” explained Benotch. “This year, they were excited to help support patients at Rogers.”
More than fifty students joined in the festive giving. Six student leaders were assigned, and they took charge. They educated themselves on the cause, and then promoted it throughout the classrooms. They made donation bins and championed gift giving and Rogers.
What a powerful testament to the power of caring for each other. Thank you, Tonawanda students. You are making a difference!
